    Medium cut - Whole oat groats are boldly cut into 2 or 3 pieces to create this nutritious and great tasting cereal. These oats take a little longer to cook than rolled oats, have more texture and are digested more slowly, creating a lower GI. Traditional style porridge oats are rolled flat and some think the nutrition is less as the whole grain has been cut open, exposed.

    Cut grade choices: We have chosen the 'medium' cut grade of steel cut oats as a good inbetween cut size.

    Grades are: largest 'pinhead', then coarse, medium, fine.

    An ideal healthy breakfast porridge with a nuttier flavour than regular rolled oats.

    Start your day with a wonderful breakfast blend of grains, nuts, seeds and dried fruit.

    Serving Suggestions -
    Best to soak overnight for a quicker cook or place in a slow cooker or thermal cooker.

    Basic Oats:
    Soak overnight for a quicker cook.
    Add 1 part steel cut oats and 2 parts liquid to a pot and cook on a low for 20 to 25 minutes. When cooked add stewed fruit. Try cooking with dried fruit for added flavour.  

    Creamy Sweetened Porridge: 
    With     non-dairy milks, fruit juice, yoghurt, fresh or poached fruit, honey and a sprinkle of your favourite superfoods e.g. LSA - Linseed, Sunflower, Almonds.

    Anzac Biscuits: Mix 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup coconut, 1 cup whole grain flour and 3/4 cup rapadura sugar. Melt 125 g butter with 2 tbs golden syrup and 1 tsp bi-carb soda. Combine. Put flattened walnut size balls in 160degC oven for about 12 minutes.
